Local History – Who were the Pilgrim Fathers?
Throughout this topic we will be looking at whom the Pilgrim Fathers were and why they left for the new world. The link the Pilgrim Fathers have to Boston will be uncovered as the children will learn about the Scrooby Congregation’s 1st attempt to escape to the Netherlands and their arrest which lead to their stay at the Guildhall. The children will also learn about the Pilgrims first encounter with Native Americans and how they managed to survive the first winter in Massachusetts.
Science – Habitats and Food Chains
In this topic we will be exploring different habitats and look at both the animals and plants that live within them. We will identify what is in those habitats that enable them to survive. This information will be used to create our own classification keys. Food chains within the habitats will also be explored.
