Chaplaincy

Our chaplaincy team meets regularly to plan our Monday ‘Gospel based’ Celebration of the word. They are confident in setting up the hall using the correct coloured cloth based on the liturgical calendar and are also able to choose appropriate hymns for an occasion or theme too. They enjoy being creative with their Celebrations of the word and like to include role play (for example by being news reporters) where possible. In the past, our pupils have really enjoyed going on chaplaincy training as well as on pilgrimage to Walsingham and to our Trust Masses in Lincoln and they always represent our school superbly.

We were delighted to be one of two schools to represent the St Therese of Lisieux Catholic Multi Academy Trust at Nottingham Cathedral as part of The Dowry Tour of Our Lady of Walsingham in October 2019. Although it was a long drive to Nottingham and back from Boston, we thoroughly enjoyed the experience and were pleased to represent our CMAT whilst joining up with other schools from the other three CMAT’s within the Diocese of Nottingham. It was wonderful to spend the time with our then parish priest, Fr Alex Adkins, who travelled with us via coach to this important event.

Since becoming part of the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Multi-Academy Trust, we have enjoyed meeting with other schools for Mass (both in real life and virtually) and engaging with them as part of the Trust Synod in 2023.

In addition to our own pupil led chaplaincy team, we are also fortunate to have a Lay Chaplain, Mrs Wright, who visits our school every Tuesday. In addition to this, our chaplaincy provision is supported by our Lead Lay Chaplain, Hannah Leech, and our Director of Chaplaincy, Tom Baptist.

We are privileged to be able to easily access the support of Lead Lay Chaplain, Hannah Leech, and our Director of Chaplaincy, Tom Baptist. We are also fortunate to be able to access their high quality chaplaincy resources.
