History – Invasion
This project teaches children about life in Britain after the Roman withdrawal. We will be exploring why the Anglo-Saxons decided to come to Britain and settle. The children will also be exploring the first Viking landing and the raid at Lindisfarne. We will then be comparing the lives of the Anglo-Saxon and Viking Society, before learning about the struggle for the throne which lead to the Norman Conquest. We will also be visiting Lincoln Castle to assist us with this project.
Science – Sound
This project teaches children about sound, how sound is made and how sound travels as vibrations through a medium to the ear. They learn about pitch and volume and find out how both can be changed. The children will be investigating how distance can change the volume of a sound source and the best ways that sound can be muffled.
