Lent 1- Starry Night
In the Starry Night project, we will explore the differences between the world at night time compared with daytime, through a range of exciting and creative activities. We will find out about nocturnal animals and how they find food when it is dark. We will also learn about people who work at night and the different jobs that people do when we are asleep. We will discuss bedtime routines and the importance of a good night’s sleep. Finally, we will explore the night sky and find out about the Moon and stars.
Lent 2- Ready, Steady, Grow
During our Ready, Steady, Grow topic, we will be learning about food and farming. We will learn about where different foods come from, what plants and animals need to survive and how we can have a healthy lifestyle. We will have a visit from our local Asda Community Champion , who will deliver a session based on Handa’s Surprise, providing the children an opportunity to taste exotic fruits.
We will also observe the seasonal changes as we begin to enter spring, thinking about how the weather is changing and what is happening to the plants and animals around us.
