Geography – Let’s Explore our world! 
We begin our first Advent term with a geography based topic called ‘Let’s Explore’. During this topic, the children will be learning how to read atlases, maps and cardinal compass points. They will learn about the equator and discover why different places are hot, temperate or cold as well as comparing them.
Science -Living things and their habitats 
In this topic, we will learn about habitats and what a habitat needs to provide. The children will explore local habitats to identify and name living things and begin to understand how they depend on one another for food and shelter. We explore ways in which animals can adapt to their habitat and experiment through camouflage and why an animal may be suitable and adapted to one habitat compared to another.
