Rounders Tournament

Friday 16th May St Mary's played rounders at Giles Sports Academy.

Friday 16th May saw a beautiful morning, sun shining with a slight breeze.  The rounders team set off for Giles Sports Academy to take part in a Tournament for Primary Schools.  They arrived to find a sea of children all excited, there were in fact thirteen different schools.  The teams were divided into two groups.  Each team played every other team in their group.  The semi finalists were the winners and runners up of each group.  While the semi finals took place the rest of the teams played friendly games against each other.

Boston St Mary's played some very good games.  Their team work proved to be a valued asset, leading to lots of children being run out and rounders stopped from being given away.  The results do not reflect the standard of play.  Most games were close, being won or lost by half a rounder.

At the end all teams came together for the results.   Tower Road being the Winners and Sibsey came in Second place.

Boston St Mary's came a respectful Fifth place out of Thirteen.

A great day was had by all.  A big thank you to the organisers and Mr Cooper for training the team.
