Football, the results are in...

St. Mary's football team completed a programme of five league matches between September and March, losing three, winning one and the fifth game ended in a draw. The boys and girls who represented the school did a good job, playing some excellent football. Special thanks to Mrs. Walmsley for organising the fixtures and to our guest referees, Mr. Heath and Jason Field of Boston United.

We hope to play one or two friendlies during the Summer term.

Reception and Year 1 enjoy a tennis taster session:

On Tuesday 9th January we were visited by two coaches from Boston Tennis Club. The children enjoyed playing games aimed at developing their ball and racket skills.

Football News!

We have now completed our first two league fixture of the season. The match against Butterwick school on Thursday, 9th November ended in a 1 - 1 draw. See the photos below.

Then on Thursday, 23rd November St. Mary's won an evenly-balanced and entertaining encounter against Old Leake 4 - 3.

Our next league fixture is at home on Thursday 1st February against Sibsey.

Meanwhile over on the netball court St. Mary's won their match against Butterwick. Congratulations! Thanks to former pupil, Ellie Goodfellow, who was the match umpire.

Over 20 pupils, boys and girls, represented St. Mary's in the annual cross-country races at Boston High School on Saturday 2nd December.

Congratulations to our medal winners! There were separate races for boys and girls. Matilda came third in her race whilst Leo was the first boy past the post.

Well done to all the other girls and boys who represented the school.

Indoor cricket

Think about cricket; a warm, sunny day in Summer. Well, not quite! In the depths of Winter a team from St. Mary's travelled to the Peter Paine Sports Centre for an indoor cricket tournament. Following victories against Butterwick and Sibsey schools the team lost in the final. Quadring won a close match by 4 runs. The team are pictured below with their silver medals.
