Admissions

Our school welcomes applications from all families and from all cultural, religious and non-religious backgrounds. You do not have to be a Catholic to attend our school.

This page explains how to apply for a place in Reception and how to request a place during the school year.

We aim to make the admissions process simple, fair, and easy to understand. Our school office is happy to guide families through this process and answer any questions.

First admissions

Children born between 1 September 2021 and 31 August 2022 will start school for the first time (Reception year) in September 2026.

Applications are accepted from 17 November 2025 to 15 January 2026 for first admissions.

Late applications can be made from 16 April 2026 to 16 May 2026.

In-Year admissions

Sometimes children need to join a school after the school year has already started. This is called an in‑year admission. Families may need this if they are moving home, arriving from overseas, or wishing to change schools.

You can apply for an in‑year place at any time during the school year. Applications are made through Lincolnshire County Council, and our school office can help if you need support. If you are applying on faith grounds, you will also need to complete a Supplementary Information Form.

Wherever possible, we encourage families to plan for their child to start school in September, as this helps children settle quickly and join their new class from the beginning of the year.

Waiting lists

If your child is not offered a place during the normal admissions round, you can choose for them to be added to the waiting list, unless you have already been offered a place at a higher‑preference school.

The list will remain open until the end of the academic application year.  If you want your child to remain on the waiting list, you must re-apply each academic year.

Lincolnshire County Council manages the waiting list for St Mary’s Catholic Voluntary Academy.

Admissions authority

The Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Multi-Academy Trust is the admission authority for all the schools within the Trust and is responsible for determining the admissions policy.

On behalf of the Trust, the admissions are coordinated by the relevant Local Authority. All decisions relating to admission applications will be taken by the school’s Local Governing Body

More information can be found on the Trust’s website: www.ololcatholicmat.co.uk/governance/admissions
