Chaplaincy

Our chaplaincy team meets regularly to plan our Monday ‘Gospel based’ Celebration of the word. They are confident in setting up the hall using the correct coloured cloth based on the liturgical calendar and are also able to choose appropriate hymns for an occasion or theme too. They enjoy being creative with their Celebrations of the word and like to include role play (for example by being news reporters) where possible. Since the implementation of the Prayer and Liturgy directory, we are trying to include more periods of silence within our prayer and liturgy planning. We are also ensuring that we read the scripture directly from a Good News Bible before we respond to this creatively through role play and videos.

In the past, our pupils have really enjoyed going on chaplaincy training as well as on pilgrimage to Walsingham and to our Trust Masses in Lincoln and they always represent our school superbly.

In addition to our own pupil led chaplaincy team, we are also fortunate to have a Lay Chaplain, Mrs Wright, who visits our school regularly. In addition to this, our chaplaincy provision is supported by our Lead Lay Chaplain, Hannah Leech, and our Director of Chaplaincy, Tom Baptist.
