St Mary's Hockey Team take part in matches at Surfleet.

Term Five saw the Hockey team take part in the four leagues Premier Championships league 1 and 2.

We entered two teams in the championships at Surfleet.  The children were very excited and a little nervous at the same time.  Some children had played before but this time seemed different as they needed good results to place in the championships.

The matches were drawn and began, the B team were new to match playing as it was their first ever set of matches. They fought very hard and played as a team within the spirit of the matches the B team finished in a respectable 2nd place in league 2.  We were very proud of their achievements.

The A team played in their league and also played very well.  They needed to win the last game to win the championship, but alas they lost 2 - 0 which meant they came overall third in the championships.

Well done to all players they are doing amazingly well thanks to their coach Andy.  St Mary's are still very new to Hockey but we believe they will become a force to be reckoned with in years to come.
