Phonics and Spellings
You can practice some spellings over the holidays, have a look at the 'Tricky Red words' for Year 1. Can you get your adult to say the word and have a go at writing it.
You could also take a tricky word and see if you can create a sentence out loud then have a go at writing it down.
Ideas to use phonics over the summer holidays:
Can you write a shopping list?
Can you make a list of 5 or 10 things you want to do over the holidays?
Could you have a go at writing the date?

Maybe you could write a diary entry, can you write the long date? What have you done today? What is the weather like?
