Learning Project - To be completed throughout the week

Here is an overview of tasks I’d like the Year 1 children to be completing at home over the next 2 weeks.

The dinosaurs are coming! Represent a Dinosaur of your choice using a variety of different collage materials. Use a variety of fabrics and materials from around to home to collage a dinosaur of your choice.

Old socks, forever hiding away in the back of draws! Well… now they have a purpose. Turn your sock into a brand new dinosaur using a variety of craft materials found around your house. What will your Sockasaurus Rex look like?

Take part in the daily Joe Wicks School Gym Workout at home, potentially with your family. These are uploaded daily to Joe’s Youtube channel – link can be found under the ‘Remote Learning’ tab on the school website.

Things have changed considerably since the Dinosaur era. Cars, planes, phones and many new inventions have been made since then! But, are they really that different?

Draw a picture of the Dinosaur era and a picture of Modern Day life. Note down what differences you see, but also what similarities you discover.

Our Science topics are currently “Animals” and “Plants” for this term. Please find attached activities and resources under the ‘Remote Learning’ tab on the school website.

Either alone or with members of your family, listen to and practice the song “Holy Days and Holidays” using the resources provided. Discuss what you feel may be the difference between a Holiday and a Holyday.
