Understanding Our World

We are lucky to be able to visit some Zoos from the comfort of our own homes. Can you talk about the animals with your adults? What are they doing? What do they look like?

What do you notice about the time of day in San Diego and the time of the day in England? Can you find out where San Diego is?

Can you complete the worksheet ‘Whose house?’

Write in your Bean Diary (Each week – long term project as it grows)

Please send us your bean’s progress on Tapestry, we would love to see how they are growing.

Is your bean growing? What has happened so far? Can you draw and label a picture of it?

Art

Can you make an animal with a spring for a body? ((See resources at the bottom of the page)

Follow the instructions to draw some animals. (See resources at the bottom of the page) Are you going to draw a fierce lion or a waddling penguin? 

D&T

Could you junk model an animal? Do they have legs? Or wings? Do they have patterned fur? Or feathers? What materials will you use? How can you join those materials together?

PE

Animal Charades - Can you write/ draw pictures of animals onto paper, put them into a bag/box and take it in turns to act out your animal and let people guess. Whoever guesses correctly it is there go next.

Relax and unwind with some yoga from Cosmic Kids

Take part in the daily Joe Wicks School Gym Workout at home, why not see if your adults and siblings will join in too.

History

What did your adults at home play with when they were younger? Did they play with anything you play with today? Can they show you any of the toys they liked playing with when they were younger, maybe in a photo or online?
