Topic

This term we will be learning all about Allotments. This will tie in to lots of our subjects such as the science behind plants and how they grow; where different fruits and vegetables are grown all over the world and what healthy treats we can make and design for ourselves!

Design and Technology

Create a recipe for a delicious healthy meal or snack. Write a set of instructions for how to make your super food, including ingredients list and method. I’d love to see some of your fantastic creations- you could either email me – year5@bostonstmarys.co.uk or tweet us @year5bsm / @bostonstmarys

Art

Create a persuasive poster, advertising your delicious, healthy creation. You could use some of the facts you have researched in your English this week. I’d love to see your posters!

P.E

Science

Research and draw a diagram of a plant of your choice. Remember to label all the parts of the plant and consider what the part’s function is.

Here is a video link that may help, there are lots of further resources on this website too...

ICT

Create a collage of a variety of plants you may find at an allotment. You may have some of these in your own gardens – I’d love to see! Don’t forget to consider the colours in your collage. There are lots of free apps that could help you with this – e.g PicCollage.
