St Thérèse of Lisieux CMAT Launch Mass
On Friday 5th July, 79 children from our school travelled with staff to the Lincolnshire Showground, to celebrate Mass with Bishop Patrick to officially launch our Catholic Multi Academy Trust.
Each school were asked to take an A1 sized postcard to the launch event to represent and celebrate their own school community. Here is our postcard designed and decorated by Mrs Wright and some Year 4 pupils:
Later, two of our Year 4 chaplaincy team members presented our postcard to Tom from the NDCYS team and Bishop Patrick.
Throughout the day, we heard more about our patron saint, St Thérèse of Lisieux, and listened to our CEO Mrs Wilson about how when we do everything with love (as St Thérèse did) we can be epic! We also sang some wonderful songs and the atmosphere was amazing. We received a pack of seeds as a gift to remind us that St Thérèse is known as 'The Little Flower'. Did you know that St Thérèse is Pope Francis' favourite saint?
At lunch time, we had a picnic on the showground and then made some new friends from St Augustine's in Stamford.
After lunch, we settled ourselves back into our seats and Mass began. Towards the end of Mass, we received a postcard from another school and we were told that this school should be our prayer partner. We received a beautiful postcard from Our Lady of Good Counsel in Sleaford and we can't wait to display this proudly within our school. Our postcard was taken to St Mary's in Grantham.
All in all, a wonderful day was had by all and we were delighted to share such a special event with our family of Catholic schools from across Lincolnshire and Rutland. We hope there will be more opportunities to get together in the future.
