June 2016

June has been a busy month for the Frogs. On Friday 10th June we celebrated the Queen's birthday by dressing up in red, white and blue, sharing lunch with our parents (sadly mainly inside as it was wet) and having an afternoon of special activities such as face painting, cake decorating etc.

Grace won a prize for designing a crown, and Ashwinya for completing a quiz about the Queen.

The following week we had 'My Money Week' in Year 1. We had lots of activities and learning about money, but one of our favourites was playing shops.

On Friday 24th June we all went on our trip to Burghley House, Stamford. We started off the visit with a sculpture workshop. The professional artist, Rob Fogle, talked to us first before we had a turn. We used clay and plaster of paris to create our own medal.

The weather was kind to us at lunch time.

After lunch we were able to walk around the grounds of Burghley House spotting many different sculptures and talking about how they might have been made.

We finished off our visit with some fun in 'The Garden of Surprises'.

Thank you to all the parents who helped and to the children for their super behaviour.
