This week we are going to be focussing on instruction writing.

On Friday, your child will be asked to help you to make something in the kitchen. This can be to make or bake something together following a recipe, however it can be as simple as helping you to prepare and cook the tea. It could even be 'how to prepare a healthy lunchbox' for example.

When you write instructions, you need to use lots of imperative verbs. Sometimes we call these bossy verbs because they boss you about and tell you what to do. Here are some examples:
