The resources below are to support your child's chosen daily writing tasks. Use your remote learning book or paper at home to complete tasks. If you are in need of another Remote Learning book, please get in touch.

Our book focus this week is 'The Snail and the Whale'

Look at the cover of the book and try and answer these questions: What is the title of the book? What do you think it will be about? What is an author? Who is the author of the book? What is an illustrator? Who is the illustrator of 'The Snail and the Whale"?

*Fathers Day - Sunday 21st June* 

Can you create a written card for your Dad or Grandad or special member of your family?

Use the template idea to draw a picture of them and write your 'I love you more than...." card. Try and Fred talk the words you want to write and show your special person how good your phonics is!

What do you love your special more than? More than flowers? More than strawberries? More than dinosaurs?


How would you like to travel around the world? Where would you like to travel to? What modes of transport could you take? Can you make a list?

Extension: What types of transport have you travelled on/in? Have you been on any unusual types of transport? Where did you go?


Create your own passport.

Can you use your passport as a word mat to write some simple sentences all about yourself. Remember to use your sound mat and red tricky word mat, for example:

My name is ......... .

I have ............. eyes.

Extension: looking at your own passport at home/ your adults.


Read the story and use the colourful semantics cards to write some simple sentences about the adventure the snail and the whale go on.


Write simple sentences about how we can get the whale back into the sea. What would you use? 


Create a thank you letter or card to thank the villagers for helping to save the whale.
