In early November, we received notice that we were going to be evacuated to safety during the war. Year 6 said goodbye to their parents, wrapped up warm and packed their gas masks before embarking on their adventure to the countryside!

We spent the day taking part in lessons, practicing putting our gas masks on and even had to rush to the bomb shelter when the air raid siren went off!

Of course, we safely returned to 2016 at the end of the day, but the experience gave us a great insight in to life for evacuees during World War 2.
