Please find below your learning for today to complete at home.

English:

We would like you to explore Saint Mary the Mother of Jesus, the Patron Saint of our school, please carry out some research using an ipad or the computer with an adult.

Here are some areas to think about:

Mary, the Mother of Jesus, the Patron Saint of our School. is specially honoured around the world during the month of May. We would like to encourage you to celebrate Mary, the Church’s greatest saint by creating a piece of work about Mary. Here are some questions to think about to support your research:

  • Who was she?
  • When was she born and when did she die?
  • When do we celebrate her feast days?
  • Can you research hymns about Saint Mary?
  • What can we learn from Mary? How can we follow her?
  • When is she mentioned in the Bible, which stories?
  • How is the Rosary linked to Saint Mary?

You can decide how you would like to display your work using ICT or written by hand. You may decide present your research as a fact file, a report using sub-headings or even a poem.

The best pieces of work will be displayed in our hall display at school, if you have completed this work at home, please return it to Mrs Williams with your name and class on the back.

There are some templates below to support you.

Art and Design:

Create a piece of artwork on Mary, the Mother of Jesus, our Patron Saint of our school. You can use the downloadable sheet below to create a stained glass window of Mary. This could be completed by using tissue paper, paint, markers, pencils or crayons. Think carefully about the colours you use so it resembles Mary.

You could choose to sketch your own portrait of Mary to decorate if you are feeling confident. We look forward to seeing your completed portraits. Remember if you have completed this at home, please return it to school with your name and class on the back for Mrs Williams.
