Parking outside the school
12 November 2009
To all parents and carers
YOU WOULD NOT PUT YOUR CHILD'S LIFE IN DANGER KNOWINGLY, WOULD YOU?
Yet, some people park on the 'zig zag lines', the 'keep clear markings' and even on the 'pavements'. This obsturcts vision and forces parents and small vunerable children out onto the road.
When reversing, they are putting everyone in danger as most of the time they can't see smaller children.
Also they prevent other parents from turning around safely as cars parked on zig zag lines are obstructiong the turning circle.
We have seen a few near misses. If a policeman was to see your car parked on a zig zag line, you would instantly get a £60 fine as well as 3 points on your licence as they view it as a very serious offence.
You could use the free parking facilities at Maud Street car park or you could park on one of the other roads nearby and walk.
Stop! Think!
Putting a child's life in danger is not a good choice.
